THE COLLECTOR
Vehicle of contemporary creation
History of an artistic road trip
Initially imagined with Lieu-Commun in 2016 for the RUN RUN RUN exhibition at the Villa Arson in Nice, the Collectionneur is a motorhome transformed into a living and exhibition space. He crisscrossed France collecting works of art all along the journey from Bordeaux via Toulouse, Sète, Montpellier, Marseille, to Nice.
The vehicle was chosen for a 1985 Toyota Huntsman Mini-Motorhome camper van found via Le boncoin. Very popular in the United States for its design and functionality, but relatively new in France (this one comes from California), it is both a collector's item, a tool for collecting works of art and a display medium. . He alone personifies an exhibition.

Mobile dissemination & mediation tool
The Collector is a tool that offers unique forms of exhibition and mediation in an iconic environment and an intimate space. Imbued with a strong aesthetic value, it reveals its surprising universe which favors a friendly approach to art.
In addition to this, you need to know more about it.
Mobile, beautiful and agile, the Collector allows you to project yourself independently in many places accessible to light vehicles. It is a pocket space, adaptable according to projects and circumstances.
While retaining its camper van atmosphere, its interior redevelopment has been specially designed to organize exhibitions of works: every corner can be exploited and all the supports can serve as a base. Visitors can see the works in a domestic universe taking up the different typologies of the space of the house. It can accommodate intimate devices in its main cabin. It has a living room where many niches equipped with small screens allow the broadcasting of videos but also the possibility of locations for projections.
Playing with the imagination of escape, discovery and camping, the Collector makes it possible to articulate devices at variable scales by deploying outdoor facilities. The exterior of the vehicle functions as a support for hanging or installations. Its close perimeter makes it possible to deploy light devices inspired by the world of camping (outdoor lounge, living and resting space, etc.).
In addition to this, you need to know more about it.
A real vector for the dissemination of art, it facilitates the circulation of ideas, projects and works. Multifunctional support, it allows the collection, transport and deployment of visual art exhibitions.
Its autonomy, its ability to adapt to different types of spaces (public, exterior, interior spaces) simplifies roaming and the co-production of art dissemination projects between operators in the visual arts sector. It evokes the great outdoors, escape and opens the imagination to adventure and the discovery of our territory.
