The Zébra3 association presents R for Real by Emanuel Licha. This exhibition follows a creative residency jointly offered by Zébra3 and Pollen as part of the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of Quebec City and of the Aquitaine - Quebec cooperation. This project consolidates a dynamic of cultural exchanges with Quebec, largely initiated by each of the associations.

The residency was awarded to Quebec plastic artist Emanuel Licha. The work created in residence, R for real, 2008 was presented at two exhibitions in Bordeaux and Monflanquin. She proposes to discover an installation of three projections forming a video triptych. this installation continues the research already initiated by the artist on the theme of man's relationship to violence. This time, the artist has chosen for decoration the National Training Center of the Forces of Gendarmerie of Saint-Astier in Dordogne. For the purposes of training in maintaining order, an urban setting has been recreated in the countryside and riots are reenacted there. This ambitious scenography appeared to the artist as " a very significant example of the superposition of a certain form of fiction following reality as closely as possible ". In R for Real, 2008 Emanuel Licha plays at blurring the line between this fiction and reality. R for Real, 2008 brings into play the paradoxes, the shifts, the oddities that result from travel: passage from the city to the countryside, from the uncontrolled feeling of violence to the cold analysis of training, from reality to fiction .
